​As a Trustee of the Dean Heritage Museum Trust your time and expertise could make a significant difference to the Dean Heritage Centre, a well loved local museum, as we make plans for the future.

 

The Dean Heritage Centre tells the stories of the Forest of Dean and looks after a collection of over 20,0000 historical documents and artefacts. The Board of Trustees sets the strategy and oversees the management for the Dean Heritage Centre. Prior experience of being a Trustee is not required, as we offer induction training, and we are open to applicants of all ages and backgrounds.

 

The Board and the staff are keen to develop the museum, so that it meets the expectations of a 21st Century audience. We are particularly seeking Trustees who have knowledge and experience within construction project management or human resources. The role is voluntary and the time commitment is not regular, but usually involves about eight meetings per year, although most Trustees also attend smaller meetings throughout the year.

​There are many ways you can get involved with the Dean Heritage Centre, including becoming a volunteer, trustee or member. All of these roles are an integral part of the Centre team and we value the year round support from everyone that helps us.​​​
